The tale as the Brothers Grimm first printed it in 1812, in English and in the German original. Jason Mowry’s illustrations are printed giclée: two portrait frontispieces, two illustrated drop caps and twenty-two illuminated page borders, each unique to its page. The Special artist edition adds an original painting across a full spread, and page borders embellished by hand.
