-------

The Press is proud to announce a fine press edition of Snow White, presented in its rarest, most potent form: the timeless mother-daughter story as originally recorded by the Brothers Grimm in 1812.

Translated directly from the original German, this edition restores the narrative before it was sanitized for contemporary children, offering readers the closest possible encounter with the raw oral tradition. The English translation prioritizes absolute fidelity to the German text, favoring the evocative, rhythmic cadence of fireside storytelling over modernized prose.

This volume marks the debut of our new Fairy Tales series—a deeply personal passion project for the Press.

-------

States & Limitation

The press will print a limited number of 126 text blocks of Little Snow-White. When the final page is printed, the metal type will be redistributed and no reprints will be made. The Press will keep 14 blocks for replacements and contributor distribution: "Artist's Copy", "Binder's Copy", and "Publisher's Copy"

112 text blocks will be used to create two states of Little Snow-White:

Typography & Printing

Handset in 11D Monotype Altdeutsche Fraktur on 12D body for the story. Titles in 24D and 36D Alte Monotype Fraktur. These were chosen to mimic the 1812 first edition of Kinder und Hausmärchen by the brothers Grimm as much as possible. The description text above and titling on the pictures is a digital rendering of Fraktur which comes very close to the metal typefaces.

Newly cast metal type by Offizin Parnassia Vättis in Switzerland

Printed on a hand-fed Korrex Berlin proof press on Hahnemühle mould-made paper

The English translation will appear in part 1 followed by the German original text. Both will feature unique illustration.
